More simplistic, casual and not quite as overwhelming to update. I am still having issues with the domain, but you can copy and paste the following into your browser:
http://www.larsonslifemusings.com/Site_3/Welcome.html
Good luck, and see you soon!
Wow! What a summer.
It seems that it was busy, and not so busy. Meanwhile all the same it seems like a blur. Weekends rolled into weekdays and it was pure bliss. We mostly stuck around here, enjoying swimming lessons, trips to the zoo, sleeping in until the late morning (be jealous...I have to wake the boys up...I know...spoiled) different city festivals (and the abundance of delicious deep fried foods), and being with friends and family. It was nice.
Now here we are at the start of another new season. If you remember its one of my favorites (see here). Rosh Hashanah this weekend (no I am not jewish, but I sure do like some of their holidays). Time to pull out all those goals once again this year. Toss out the old and in with the new. So what do I have in store for myself this year?

1.	I will run a 5k. After my knee surgery in January I have not been able to do this, and really miss it. I am shooting to do this one on November 28th if you want to come do it with me.
2.	I will learn about Photography. I would like to own a DSLR (that is a camera...just in case you didn’t know). The pre-rec to owning such a wonderful camera is learning how to use one first:). I have already started on this one. This week I signed up for the coveted Oh Shoot 101 class over at jessicasprague.com (Its only taken 3 tries to get in)
3.	I will bring back date night (or day). Time with my sweetie has seemed to take a backseat to our hectic lives and schedule. Now that Ike and Port are in preschool at the same time, maybe we will catch a movie or go to the gym together. Once a week...thats all I ask.
4.	I will be business like. Teaching digital goodness is very important to me. I will work harder to promote Maple Tree Memories as we extend fun and exciting classes in photo editing and digital scrapbooking, and make a leap into digital video services. If there is something that you are wanting let me know!!!
5.	I will spend quality time with my boys. They are growing so fast. Its hard to imagine that I have a 5 and 3 year old. They are getting so fun, and I don’t want to look back a regret that the quantity time was not quality time. I am lucky to spend some time with Porter on Wednesdays when Ike is at school, and when Porter naps I will take advantage of the one on one time with Isaac.

So there ya have it, just a few goals to set for myself through out the coming year. What are yours?

Its been awhile.
Please forgive.
I have had the serious case of musing mishap...writers block. This nasty problem has seeped into every crevasse of my creativity. Although I will share a thought that I had today while taking a shower at 4pm (isn’t having nowhere to be just wonderful?).

Have any of you done anything (something big) lately spur of the moment?

I myself am not a spur of the moment kind of gal. I did it once (that I can think of). Dan and I took a trip up the Oregon/Washington Coast (pre-kids), and decided to just drive until we were tired and find a place to stay wherever we were. This did not work out so well for us. We would have just pulled over to a rest stop or even the side of the road, but it was completely dark, we had no idea where we were (somewhere in Washington...I think), and our car was so completely packed with our camping/hiking/vacation garb, that we couldn’t lay the seats back. Yes, this is the same vacation where we ran our bike laden Subaru into a parking structure.
We rolled into who knows where “Bates-looking” hotel, about 2:30am, only to find out that the only room available was their $250 bridal suite. Ahh...such is our luck. We ended staying in the beauty of a room, and swore we would never do that again. (Don’t worry, I filled up the jetted tub the next morning, and ate a hardy breakfast of whatever was in the mini-fridge...gotta get your pennies worth right?)
So there you have it. While my brain is in a million little circles, it may need a couple more weeks to unwind. Maybe I will be back with some amazing stories, inspiring words, or just the hum-drum of our lives this summer. But I have to tell you this break has been pretty nice!

Its summer around here.
You know how you can tell? We start loosing hair! This year Dan joined the q-balls in their annual summer cuts. It is so nice (especially for Ike...he is such a sweat head), but always a little sad to see this:

In Porters case, he will have a head full of white hair in about two week, Isaac’s will take forever to grow out and its so uneven. Oh the joy! They seem to like it though.
Busy time round here.
Couple weeks ago we celebrated my (and my sis Kellie) birthday at Rodizio Grill in S. Lake. I had never eaten at this Brazilian restaurant, but we managed to get sung to in Portuguese.

Hate that (always slightly a little embarrassing)! It was nice to enjoy a meal with my parents and siblings without the kids. We have never done that. Throughly enjoyable!

Porters birthday was last Thursday. Three!! I can hardly believe it. He was so anxious for his Dinosaur Birthday. I even (with the help of the internet) made this cake (no its not a giraffe:)). We had a great time with our families!

(Yes, that bottom present is a bounce house.
Thanks a lot siblings!!!)
Then on Saturday, the day before my birthday, I gave myself an early birthday present. I have always toyed with the idea of trying a marathon but since running was almost out of the question with my knee, I started riding my bike. As therapy after my surgery, I rode, and I rode, and I rode! Surely there must be a reward for all this riding! And then I found a all women century ride, and to most everyones surprise, signed up.
Over the last few months, I managed to pick up some buddies and throughly enjoyed my training (although, I was hoping to loose a lot of weight...which I did not:(). Saturday was the big day and boy was it fun. The ride to mile 50 was awesome, only to turn around into rain, hail and a nasty headwind. That part was not so awesome, but I kept going. Nearly 8 hrs later I finished 104 miles. What a major accomplishment. I think I have become a biker chick and well now that I have done a century, I believe I am “in the club”. More rides to come this summer! Here are some pics!

(So biker clothes...not that flattering! ICKY!)

While I was peddling away the boys were enjoying the Air Show up at Hill Air Force Base. My sister Natalie was even able to snag a tour of the fire station up there! (Thanks Nat!) I think all my boys (including the big one) were in heaven!

I knew it was just a matter of time.
Time until they really began to work together to get themselves into trouble. I know, I really shouldn’t have much to worry about at this stage of life. Heck, in visiting with a friend of mine raising teenagers, my life with two monkey boys is a cake walk.
So why does it seem like I am always nagging (which I hear doesn’t change much over the next 15 years)?
Oh, I love being a mom.
It is the greatest job in the world.
But....
it is really the most difficult one I have ever had (and I have had some doozies).
Especially when I compare myself to all my other “super-can-do-anything-and-everything” mom friends. (I don’t write that for your pity...I really do have some amazing friends. We all have our strengths)
So in finding the type of mom I am I did a search on the internet (because we all know the www speaks nothing but the truth). Turns out this is me:

Yep, we will see how I fare during the teenage years. Right now I will enjoy the sun baked art on the side of my house, and if you would like to try this test yourself click here. Let me know what kind of mom you are!
